Danville council ward meetings start Thursday

DANVILLE — A series of city ward meetings kick off on Thursday, giving all residents in the city the opportunity to voice concerns or ask questions about city services.

The city's human relations commission is sponsoring the ward meetings, which are informal and open to the public.

All meetings will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. with a reception and refreshments until 6:30 p.m. followed by the meeting at 6:35 p.m. Wards 5, 6 and 7 will meet this week, and Wards 1, 2 3 and 4 will meet next week.

According to Sandra Houston, human relations administrator for the city, the purpose of the meetings is to give residents the opportunity to meet their city officials and ask them questions.

Residents can forward their concerns or questions to city officials before their ward meeting, where they will be addressed by city officials.

Email questions or concerns to Houston at shouston@cityofdanville.org.

The emails must include the ward meeting you will be attending along with your name and address.

For more information about the ward meetings, call 431-2280.
