Single-car accident west of Champaign injures one

CHAMPAIGN - A person was injured in a single-car accident just west of Champaign on Interstate 72 about 9:15 p.m. Saturday.

Preliminary information from Illinois State Police was that there was only one person in the car on eastbound 72. The car reportedly left the road and hit a tree near mile marker 178, which is near Bondville.

Emergency workers from the Seymour and Bondville fire departments responded and police narrowed traffic to one lane while they worked to free the driver.
