Ebertfest? There's an app for that

CHAMPAIGN — Just in time for the 15th anniversary of Roger Ebert's Film Festival: The New Ebertfest 1999-2013 Anniversary App for the iPad.

The new app will be sold for $6.99, or nearly half price, during the festival from today through Sunday at the Virginia Theatre. It was developed by Shatterglass Studios and Single Stereo, in partnership with Ebertfest and the University of Illinois College of Media.

The app — its full price is $12.99 — allows users to explore the entire history of the festival on their iPad. Its features include video of Ebert himself, programs from past festivals, reviews and trailers.
