Getting Personal: Kelsey Kaiser
Each week, we offer an email Q&A with a local personality. Today, Paul Wood chats with 19-year-old photographer Kelsey Kaiser of Champaign. When asked to describe in one sentence what it is she does, she said, 'I walk around smiling.'
What time do you typically get up? What do you do the first hour of the morning?
7:30 a.m. Get on the website tumblr and watch my sibling rush around to get ready for school.
What did you have for lunch today? Where? With whom?
A salad, my house, with my mom.
Best high school memory?
Being the co-head editor for yearbook.
Tell me about your favorite pair of shoes.
What does a perfect Sunday afternoon include?
Relaxing with the family.
Was there one book you read as a child that you still cherish? Own? Read?
"Moo Baa La La La." I still have it, but I don't still read it.
Where on Earth are you dying to go? Why?
Australia to hang out with kangaroos.
Tell me about your favorite pet.
I had a spiney soft-shell turtle named Marsha, and I used to race her in the grass.
Have you discovered that you are becoming like one of your parents? Which one and how?
The only thing that I have from my parents is my dad's humor.
What would you order for your last meal?
What can you not live without?
My friends and family.
Who do you have on your iPod?
Adele, A Day to Remember, Ed Sheeran, Jason Aldean, Maroon 5, Luke Bryan and so much more.
What's the happiest memory of your life?
I don't think I can truly answer this question with one specific moment. I know I have been happy a lot in my life, but I haven't had one big moment yet.
If you could host a dinner party with any three living people in the world, whom would you invite?
Luke Bryan, Jennifer Lawrence and Max Schneider.
What's the best advice you've ever been given?
To write things down because I am very forgetful.
What's your best piece of advice?
Don't ever give up and keep smiling!
What was your first job and how much did you make an hour?
Fitness Center playroom worker. I made $8 an hour.
What was a pivotal decision in your career and how did you arrive at that decision?
I'm still undecided, but I want to be happy.
Do you have a bad habit? What is it?
Picking my nails when I am stressed.
How do you handle a stressful situation?
I try to get help and have someone calm me down.
