CHAMPAIGN — Police are investigating an early-morning shooting that left one man injured at a hotel near Interstate 74 in Champaign.

According to a news release, police were called to the Red Roof Inn, 212 W. Anthony Drive, C, at 12:46 a.m. Wednesday, where they found a man in the parking lot with a gunshot wound.

The man had gone to meet a man at the hotel, and when he arrived, found a second man there, according to Champaign police spokeswoman Rene Dunn. Both men pulled guns on him. He ran from the room and was shot.

The shooters drove away and have not been found.
