Volunteers sought to spruce up Boys & Girls Club

DANVILLE — The Boys & Girls Club of Danville is looking for volunteers to help spruce up the clubhouse on Saturday.

The club is partnering with Comcast for Comcast Cares Day at the Boys & Girls Club. Volunteers will be working at the Mervis Unit, 850 N. Griffin St., Danville, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

They will be painting and doing a flooring project, as well as a few other smaller projects.

"We are looking for people to come to the club and volunteer with their time helping with these projects," Executive Director Rob Gifford said.

Comcast will donate a certain amount of money per volunteer that can be used for materials for the projects. It also will donate any leftover proceeds to the club.

"The more volunteers that we can get, the more we can get done to help the club stay a nice place for the youth of our community to come to each day," Gifford said.

Comcast will also provide T-shirts and lunch on that day.

Volunteers can pre-register at http://www.comcastinthecommunity.com or at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. All ages are welcome.
