Offense nets conditional discharge

URBANA — An Urbana man has been sentenced to 24 months of conditional discharge after he pleaded guilty this week to a drug charge.

Brandon J. Cruz, 28, who listed an address in the 900 block of East Oregon Street, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to one count of manufacture and delivery of cannabis.

Judge Tom Difanis sentenced Cruz to 24 months of conditional discharge, two days in the county jail with credit for two days already served and to pay fines and court costs.

According to Assistant State’s Attorney Troy Lozar, Urbana and Champaign police recovered 190 grams of suspected marijuana from Cruz as part of a drug investigation on Sept. 12, 2012.
