Two Danville show choirs place in top 10

DANVILLE — Danville High School's two show choirs both placed in the top 10 in their categories at the FAME Show Choir national competition in Chicago this past weekend.

The Contemporaires, an all-female choir, placed seventh in the women's division, and the Delegation, a mixed choir, placed eighth overall.

The competition was held at the Arie Crown Theater last Saturday. The groups competed against choirs from Illinois, Arizona, California, Indiana, Iowa, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma and Texas.

Both the Contemporaires and Delegation finished second in their respective categories during the FAME regional competition in Los Angeles in March, which allowed them to advance to the national competition.
