Man sentenced to prison for criminal sexual abuse
URBANA — A Chicago man has been sentenced to prison for sexually abusing a teen in a Champaign home last year.
On Wednesday, Judge Heidi Ladd sentenced Xavier Hill, 24, who listed an address in Chicago, to four years in prison after he pleaded guilty to felony criminal sexual abuse.
As part of a plea agreement, two charges of criminal sexual assault by force were dismissed.
A Champaign police report said an 18-year-old Champaign woman had gone to a friend’s house in the 200 block of West Bradley Avenue in July 2012 to braid the friend’s sister’s hair.
When she arrived, a man later identified as Hill opened the door wearing only a towel around his waist.
The report said Hill told the woman her friend was not there but she could wait for him.
When she told him she didn’t want to wait, he allegedly grabbed her by the wrist, pulled her into the house and dragged her into a bedroom.
The report said the woman tried to get off the bed and was kicking and screaming for him to stop, but he allegedly held both hands over her head while removing her shorts and underwear and then sexually assaulted her.
The woman went home and told her parents what happened. She was treated at Presence Covenant Medical Center in Urbana.
