Urbana man arrested on drug charge

URBANA — An Urbana man is being held at the Champaign County Jail on $250,000 bond after police found suspected rock cocaine in his apartment.

Ricky C. Ivy, 27, who listed an address in the 1800 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue, Urbana, was charged on Thursday with felony unlawful possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance.

According to an Urbana police report, an ongoing investigation by the police department's street crimes unit led police to get a search warrant for Ivy's apartment.

When police arrived at the apartment to execute the search warrant at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, they found Ivy in front of his home. When officers searched the home, they found 1.2 grams (0.04 ounce) of suspected rock cocaine and $300 cash in a bedroom and arrested Ivy.

Ivy's next court appearance was set for June 25.
