Vehicle fire reported in downtown Champaign

CHAMPAIGN - Traffic has resumed on  Neil Street in downtown Champaign after a vehicle caught  fire.

Firefighters were called to a minivan on fire at about 3 p.m. Thursday, according to Champaign fire engineer Chris Zaremba. 

He said the only occupant of the van got out uninjured and the fire was confined to the engine compartment.

Firefighters cleared the scene, just north of the Church/Main streets intersection with North Neil Street, at about 3:30 p.m.
