Weather forces postponement of first outdoor Rantoul movie

Weather forces postponement of first outdoor Rantoul movie

Called because of rain.

No, it’s not a baseball game; it’s an outdoor movie.

“WALL-E,” the first movie in the park scheduled for tonight (May 31) at Wabash Park in Rantoul, has been called off due to the threat of bad weather.

But the movie hasn’t been cancelled; it’s been postponed.

Amanda Briggs, Rantoul Area Chamber of Commerce director, said the movie was rescheduled for dusk Friday, June 7, near the bandstand in the park.

Briggs said earlier that no movies would be rescheduled in the event of bad weather. But a softball tournament that had been scheduled for the June 7 weekend will not be held, and the movie can be shown.

The movie is to be the first in a series of four movies to be shown during the summer at the park.
