Two admit having drug, receive first offender's probation

URBANA — Two fraternity brothers who admitted having hallucinogenic mushrooms in their room about two months ago have been sentenced to first offender's probation.

If Dalton Lukasik and Robert T. White, both 20, successfully complete the two years of probation without getting into any further trouble, they'll have no record of a conviction.

Both men pleaded guilty this week before Judge Harry Clem to possession of a controlled substance, admitting that on April 1 they had psilocybin in their room at the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity, 911 S. Fourth St., C.

The two were investigated and arrested by University of Illinois police, who also found cash and cannabis in a safe in their room.

A charge of possession with intent to deliver cannabis was dismissed in return for their pleas.

Both men were also sentenced to two weeks in the county jail.

Neither had any prior criminal record.
