Durbin: Snowden extradition unknown, but punishment likely

Illinois' senior Senator said the case of Edward Snowden is unlike anything he's seen before.

Snowden's whereabouts are now unknown after he was revealed as the man who made known the U.S. government's spy program.

And Democratic Senator Dick Durbin said he's not sure if Snowden will be forced to return to the U.S., but did say that Snowden will surely face punishment.

Durbin also said having to deal with whistleblowers like Snowden is a by-product of a decision that the government made years ago.

Durbin made the comments Tuesday on the NewsTalk 1400 WDWS Morning Show.
