Ford County Board could vote soon on ousting public health administrator

The Ford County Board could vote next week to fire the administrator of the Ford-Iroquois Public Health Department.

Board Chairman Rick Bowen said he's gathering more facts and will likely call a special meeting for next Thursday or Friday.  Bowen said the board could vote at that time but didn't know for sure if it would happen.

This all revolves around Public Health Administrator Doug Corbett.  He's come under fire in recent months, most recently over a contract that his group gave to the husband of an employee.

Already, the Iroquois County Board has recommended that Corbett be removed.  The Ford County Board could do the same, but the final decision lies with the health department board.  That board is not set to meet until next month.
