Georgia woman injured in two-vehicle accident

RURAL TOLONO — A Georgia woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident Monday morning in rural Tolono.

According to a state police report, Troy M. Rund, 45, who listed an address in Tuscola, was driving a vehicle north on Interstate 57 approaching mile marker 224 west of Tolono in a dense fog when his vehicle rear-ended a northbound vehicle driven by Kimberly M. Butler, 45, who listed an address in Champaign, at 6:28 a.m. Monday.

A front seat passenger in Butler's vehicle, Joann Newton, 66, who listed an address in Decatur, Ga., was taken to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, where she was treated for back pain and released.

Rund, Butler and a second passenger Butler's vehicle, Tashwan L. Butler, 9, of Champaign, were not injured.

All four of them were wearing seat belts, according to police.

Police ticketed Rund for failure to reduce speed and driving too fast for conditions.
