Champaign police continue to look for a man who fired at another man early Monday morning on the city's northside.

But police spokesperson Rene Dunn said this gunfire incident does not appear to be related to the series of shootings on Champaign's northside last week.

Dunn said in the Monday morning incident, the two men were earlier involved in a physical fight.  Then around four in the morning, both of the men saw each other while standing in the 1000 block of Northwood Drive. Dunn said one of the men pulled out a gun and fired several shots at the other.  The 25-year-old victim was not hit.

But a round went through the front window of a house while other rounds hit in the carport according to Dunn.

The suspect is described as a black man, about 165 pounds and is six-feet-one-inch tall. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt with dark pants and a red hat.

In the meantime, Champaign police continue their investigation into the five incidents of gunfire last week. So far, five men have been arrested.  Deputy Police Chief Troy Daniels said last week that more arrests will be made.  Six men were wounded in the gunfire and several cars were damaged.
