The Coles County State's Attorney has decided not to pursue charges in an alleged sexual assault case from April near the Eastern Illinois University campus.

Charleston Police were called to a residence in the 1000 block of Fourth Street on April 27th for a report of a female having been sexually assaulted by several men while she was attending a house party.

But State's Attorney Brian Bower said after a thorough investigation, he will not file charges in the case against any anyone at this time.

Bower added that the case could be re-opened if more evidence is presented.

No one was arrested or detained at any point during the investigation.
