URBANA — An Urbana man already in custody for the attempted murder of his father and a drug case has been charged with delivery of heroin.
Assistant Champaign County State's Attorney Dan Clifton said he filed charges Wednesday of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance against Quintin Brown, 21, whose last known address was in the 1200 block of West Beslin Street.
The most recent charges allege Brown sold heroin to confidential informants working with Champaign police on Sept. 10 and Sept. 13 of last year in Champaign, Clifton said.
Brown has been in the county jail since April, when he was arrested in connection with the attempted murder of his father, Mark Brown, 40, of Rantoul. On Feb. 3, the younger Brown allegedly fired several shots in the direction of Mark Brown, who was in a car in the 2000 block of Cynthia Drive in Champaign. Mark Brown was not physically injured.
Quintin Brown also has an unrelated pending drug case alleging he possessed cocaine last November that was intended for sale, Clifton said.
Those cases are scheduled to be called for a status hearing next week.
