Rantoul teen arrested following residential burglary

RANTOUL— A Rantoul teenager is due back in court on Aug. 6 following his arrest in connection with a residential burglary.

Daveon L. Hart, 17, who listed an address in the 600 block of Heath Drive, Rantoul, was charged on Monday with felony residential burglary.

According to a Rantoul police report, officers were called to the 1600 block of Par Drive at 1:12 p.m. Sunday.

Police said three men had entered a bedroom window at the home and took a number of items from the home. The men put the items in a pillow case and left the home by going through the window.

When the owner of the residence returned home following the incident, he determined that a laptop computer, Sony PlayStation 3, several PlayStation games and a saxophone had been taken.

With the help of eyewitnesses, police were able to track the three suspected burglars to a home a short distance away, according to Rantoul Police Chief Paul Farber.

Police recovered all the stolen items except for the laptop computer and arrested Hart and a 16-year-old juvenile, who was not identified.

Farber said police continue to look for the third man involved in the residential burglary.
