Phelps confident in concealed carry override

The sponsor of Illinois' concealed carry bill said he's confident that lawmakers will be able to override Governor Pat Quinn's veto on Tuesday.

Brandon Phelps of Harrisburg said the vote may be close in the Senate, but overall he thinks that there will be enough votes in time to meet the bill's court mandated deadline.

Phelps made the comments Monday on A Penny For Your Thoughts on WDWS.

Meanwhile, Tuesday is also Governor Pat Quinn's deadline for lawmakers to act on pension reform.  However, the committee that's studying the issue has already said that it will not meet that deadline.
