Bike accident victim in fair condition

One of the bicyclists injured over the weekend in a hit-and-run accident that claimed the life of a teenager is now in fair condition.

Twenty year-old Javin Lehman of Robinson was injured along with four others when a car struck them on Saturday night south of Charleston near the Bent Tree Golf Course.  Sixteen year-old Leonard Beachy was killed in the accident.

Lehman is being treated at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, while the other three were treated at a different hospital and released.

The driver of the car, 21 year-old Samuel Meadows, is facing charges of aggravated driving under the influence and leaving the scene of a personal injury or fatal accident.  His bond has been set at $350,000, and he's due back in court on July 22nd.
