School district to discuss resources for Spanish-speaking families

CHAMPAIGN — The Champaign school district's department of English as a Second Language and Bilingual Education is hosting presentations next week about Illinois resources for Spanish-speaking families.

The presentations will features speakers from the Illinois Secretary of State and the Citizens Utility Board. The speakers will give information about obtaining Illinois driver's licenses and IDs for children, and on how to avoid utility billing problems, saving money during winter and avoiding unnecessary utility services.

The school district is hosting a presentation for Spanish-speakers at 6:30 p.m. next Tuesday at St. Mary's Church, 612 E. Park St., C.

A presentation for English speakers who work with Spanish-speaking families. That is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 17 at the Champaign Public Library in Room C, 200 W. Green St., C.
