Boys and Girls Club seeing progress, director says

The head of the Don Moyer Boys and Girls Club in Champaign said he's seen a large increase in participation in the group's programs during the last year.

Executive Director of the agency Sam Banks made those comments Friday on the WDWS Morning Show.

Banks has been the head of the agency since last July, and he said there is so much demand for the club's programs, that kids are being put on a waiting list.

Banks added that the Boys and Girls Club has been able to stabilize its financial situation after having some difficulties in recent years.  He also said the agency would like to expand its operations beyond its Park Street location.
