Champaign Public Library gets state money

The Champaign Public Library has received a portion of hundreds of thousands of dollars from the Illinois Secretary of State.

The library was awarded $12,500 as part of Project Next Generation.

Secretary of State Jesse White, who also serves as the State Librarian, said the program is designed to help mentor young people through libraries.

White awarded a total of more than $211,000 to 16 libraries throughout the state.
