Local groups roll out health survey

Local health and social service groups are once again surveying the community to see what can be improved in their fields.

Champaign-Urbana Public Health District Administrator Julie Pryde said the survey is now online and will later be done in person.  The results will go toward creating a three year plan that will address areas for improvement.

Groups like the Champaign County Regional Planning Commission, the United Way of Champaign County, Presence Covenant Medical Center and Carle are all taking part.  And Pryde said presenting that united front is key to spurring change.

Pryde said CUPHD is required to put together a plan like this every five years, but officials have decided to do it every three years instead.  The last time a plan was rolled out, Pryde said four areas were identified as needing improvement:  obesity, violence, unintentional injuries and access to care.
