Ludlow keeps superintendent

LUDLOW — Dru Lobmaster will return for a seventh year as superintendent at Ludlow Grade School.

The school board voted to retain Lobmaster at Thursday's meeting.

She worked the first four years as superintendent on a full-time basis and will start her third year as a part-time superintendent.

The board approved a 100-day contract with Lobmaster.

Also serving in an administrative capacity at the school is Tanya Vipond, who was hired earlier this year as principal on a part-time basis.

Lobmaster said the arrangement "will be a little different than before."

Previously, Tom Townsend, who worked as part-time principal, and Lobmaster took turns being at the school. He resigned from the post earlier this year.

While part-time as principal, Vipond will be at the school on a full-time basis. She will also work at the school as a special education teacher.

Townsend served as principal during two stints at Ludlow — during the 2005-06 and '06-'07 school years while Jerry Zachary was superintendent and the last two years with Lobmaster as superintendent.
