Man who pulled gun arrested

CHAMPAIGN — A man who pulled a gun on another man standing on his Campustown front porch was arrested early Saturday morning after both having his gun knocked away and being hit in the head.

Devin Scott Frisby, 20, who listed an address in the in the 400 block of East Maple Street, Urbana, was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated assault and battery. He is due back in court Aug. 16.

Frisby was with two other men about 2 a.m. Saturday when he pulled a gun on a man standing on the front porch of his fraternity house in the 900 block of South First Street, Champaign, according to a Champaign police report.

The victim knocked the gun away from Frisby and hit him in the head, said Champaign police spokeswoman Rene Dunn.

Frisby fled, but police later found him.

After he was checked out at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, police took him into custody, Dunn said.
