C-U MTD board to vote on new director Wednesday
The Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District Board is expected to give final approval on Wednesday to a new managing director.
The man who currently holds that position, Bill Volk, will retire next year. And board members on Wednesday will vote to have Karl Gnadt replace him.
Gnadt has worked for the district since 1995 and is currently the group's director of market development.
He said improving the district's relationship with outside groups, especially ones who aren't supporters of MTD, will be one of his top priorities as director.
Gnadt also said that the district is facing several other retirements besides Bill Volk, and so a short term goal of his is to manage that change and make sure employees are not nervous about it.
If Gnadt's appointment is approved on Wednesday, he'll serve as managing director designate until Volk's retirement in June.
