Champaign official expects development trend to continue

The head of the planning department in Champaign said as the city continues to recover from the economic recession, city leaders are optimistic that the increase in development projects will also continue.

Planning and Development Director Bruce Knight sounded off on the topic Thursday on the WDWS Morning Show.  Knight said Champaign appears to be following the trend that's occuring nationally.

Knight added that all of the development on Green Street is a little surprising.

Knight said in the next year, there will probably be five multi-use buildings under construction on Green Street, ranging from 5 to 20 stories.
