Events scheduled in downtown Danville

DANVILLE — The public is invited to two events in downtown Danville on Friday.

The first is the Safe Night Out Fun Fair from 4 to 8 p.m. at Palace Park, 158 N. Vermilion St., next to the Fischer Theatre.

The event will feature games, prizes, a dunk tank, food and information booths.

Tickets are 25 cents each of five for $1.

The event is sponsored by Crosspoint Domestic Violence & Transitional Shelter, 201 N. Hazel St., Danville.

The second event is the final concert in this year's Summer Sounds Concert Series presented by Cellular One.

It will held at Temple Plaza, 100 N. Vermilion St.

Drink service will begin at 5 p.m. There will also be food vendors.

The free concert, featuring Duke Tomatoe& the Power Trio, will be held from 6 to 9 p.m.

The concert is sponsored by Downtown Danville Inc. and the Danville Chapter of AMBUCS.

Downtown Danville Rotary members will sell raffle tickets for a chance to win two season Illini football tickets for its annual fund raiser. Chances are $20 each, and the drawing will be held at the end of the concert.
