Group seeks school supply donations

URBANA — The Heavenly Seven are hosting a Good Deeds for School Needs drive next Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Urbana Neighborhood Connections Center at 1401 E. Main St., U.

They will be collecting school supplies from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. that day for their annual giveaway, which is scheduled for Aug. 17. They will even be able to collect supplies from donors' cars.

The Heavenly Seven are asking for donations of ruled paper, composition books, graph paper, protractors, compasses, USB thumb drives, three-ring binders, one- and five-subject notebooks, rulers, glue bottles and sticks, mechanical pencils, erasers, dry erase markers, regular markers, colored pencils, pens, index cards, folders, crayons, pencil pouches, book bags, calculators, highlighters, facial tissues, sandwich and gallon size zip-up bags, hand sanitizer and pencil sharpeners.

The Heavenly Seven are also accepting financial donations to buy school supplies, and are also accepting donations at 613 N. Fourth St., C. Money or gift cards can be sent to P.O. Box 904, Champaign, IL 61820.

The Heavenly Seven is a group of local residents who give away school supplies, host an annual Thanksgiving dinner for senior citizens and more.
