Urbana man sentenced to probation in cannabis case

URBANA — An Urbana man who had several pounds of cannabis in his home last winter was sentenced Monday to three years of probation and ordered to pay $9,100 in fines.

Steven D. Fogle, 40, of the 1400 block of Lincolnwood, Urbana, pleaded guilty before Champaign County Judge Heidi Ladd to possession with intent to deliver cannabis, admitting that on Jan. 13, he had between 500 and 2,000 grams of cannabis to sell.

At the time of his arrest, Champaign County sheriff's deputies found about 4 pounds in his home.

Also present was Cary Kallembach, 47, of Oroville, Calif., formerly of Urbana, who was also charged with possession with intent to deliver cannabis.

That charge against Kallembach was dismissed in June, when he pleaded guilty to possession with intent to deliver cannabis in a different case. Kallembach admitted that on Nov. 1, 2012, he had about 11 pounds of cannabis in his home to sell.

Kallembach is serving a six-year prison sentence for that.
