Urbana School District gets SPLASH Grant from city

The Urbana School District will have some extra money to spend on its before and after school program thanks to the City of Urbana.

The school district already received about $62,000 from the federal government for the SPLASH (Students Playing and Learning Afterschool Hours) Program at the Urbana Middle School.  The federal funding for the program expires in June of next year.

Now, the district will receive nearly $22,000 from the City of Urbana to help further fund the program, which provides a number of classes, activities and homework assistance for students.
