THOMASBORO — A Rantoul woman was injured in a single-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon in Thomasboro.

According to a state police report, Lucia Barragan Alvarez, 44, who listed an address in Rantoul, was driving a sport utility vehicle south on U.S. 45 when she swerved, overcorrected and traveled through the center median three-tenths of a mile south of County Road 2600 N.

Alvarez's vehicle then entered the north lanes of traffic, where the SUV overturned in the driving lane.

Alvarez, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, where she was treated and released.

Police ticketed Alvarez for improper lane usage, no valid driver's license and operating an uninsured vehicle.
