Urbana early childhood open house set

URBANA — The new Urbana Early Childhood School will host an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17.

At the open house, community members can tour the new early childhood school. All new and returning students of the school and their parents are invited to their own preview from 3-5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20.

The new school has child-friendly features such as lower windows and color-coordinated hallways, along with cost-saving items like a geothermal heating and cooling system.

The school, formerly known as Washington Early Childhood Center, will also start the 2013-14 school year with a new name. The new facility, located on the grounds of and attached to Prairie Elementary School, was named the Urbana Early Childhood School in May.

I found a link to the school: http://www.usd116.org/washington/  I always love to see a new preschool giving kids a good start. Reminds me of working for Jellybean Park
