Amtrak detour route to pass through Champaign

You can expect to see larger crowds at the Champaign Amtrak station for the next few days starting Friday.

Due to rail work near Bloomington-Normal, Champaign has been put on a detour route for the line going from Chicago to St. Louis.

None of the scheduled trains running through Champaign will be impacted, but chartered buses and trains will meet passengers at the Champaign station to take them to other destinations as a part of the detour route.

The changes will last until next Friday, Aug. 23.  For more information, click here.
