17-year-old sentenced to probation for burglary plea

URBANA — A Rantoul teen who admitted breaking into a home in Rantoul earlier this summer has been sentenced to two years of probation.

Daveon L. Hart, 17, who listed an address in the 600 block of Heath Drive, pleaded guilty before Judge Harry Clem to a lesser charge of burglary, admitting he entered a home in the 1600 block of Par Drive on June 23.

Hart was ordered to perform 30 hours of public service and make restitution of $405 to the man whose house he entered. A more serious charge of residential burglary was dismissed as part of his plea.
