Woman ordered to repay former employer $9,700

URBANA — An Urbana woman who admitted stealing from her employer has been sentenced to two years of conditional discharge and ordered to repay the business.

Jessica Guiles, 28, who listed an address in the 2000 block of Constitution Avenue, pleaded guilty Tuesday before Judge Tom Difanis to misdemeanor theft.

She admitted that during January she stole from World Finance, 111 N. Broadway Ave., U, where she was an office manager.

Although the charge to which she pleaded guilty alleged the theft of under $500, she was ordered to make $9,755 in restitution.

Assistant State's Attorney Troy Lozar dismissed a felony theft charge against Guiles in exchange for her guilty plea.

Lozar said she has already repaid $6,000.
