Acting director named for Danville VA facility

DANVILLE — The associate director of the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va., has been named the acting director of the VA Illiana Health Care System in Danville.

Timothy J. Cooke took over his new post on Monday.

He follows Director Emma Metcalf, who transferred to the VA Medical Center in Lexington, Ky. A search is being conducted to find a permanent replacement.

Cooke has been associate director for the veterans medical center in Martinsburg since 2010. Prior to that, he served as the center's facility management service chief, beginning in 2004.

He started his VA career as an engineering intern at the VA Medical Center in Baltimore in 1990.
