DANVILLE — People can learn more about foods that are full of fiber and can be delicious and easy to prepare at a cooking demonstration at the Village Mall County Market on Sept. 4.
"Fun Foods & Fiber" will be presented by the Women Aware Committee of the HALO Project.
The event, which is free and open to the public, is at 2 p.m. Sept. 4. Participants should meet in the County Market Cafe near the front of the store.
Registration isn't necessary, but seating is limited.
Carol Shriver, Presence regional clinical nutrition manager, will host the cooking demonstration and offer suggestions on what foods to use for a tasty, fiber-rich diet.
There will be food tasting, store tours and prize giveaways. The American Cancer Society's "Healthy Eating Cookbook" will be available for a $5.00 donation.
County Market and HALO Project are partners in the Fast & Easy Healthy Food Kiosk, located at the front of the store.
