Man charged with armed robbery

URBANA — A Champaign man has been charged in connection with the robbery of a restaurant employee last week.

In Champaign County court on Monday, Brion Howard, 21, was charged with one count of armed robbery. He's due back in court on Sept. 10 with an attorney.

His bond will remain at $500,000.

Howard is accused of robbing an employee of the Taco Bell on West Springfield Avenue, Champaign, last Friday.

Police say he then went to a nearby apartment where he was holed up for about an hour before being arrested.

No one was injured in the incident.
