Student spearheads successful collection for local food pantry

DANVILLE — A Rainbow of HOPE Primary School student exceeded the goal with Vacation Bible School donations for a local food pantry.

Zane LaBonte, a student at Rainbow of HOPE Primary School's summer program, organized a vacation bible school this summer for his fellow students.

Zane planned various activities, such as plays, songs and discussions for all the children. He invited all the children to bring items for the Oakwood Food Pantry. His goal was 80 items, but the children brought in about 130.

Rainbow of HOPE is a preschool through sixth-grade private school west of Danville.
