Cause of fire near St. Joseph listed as undetermined

The cause of a fire that destroyed a home near St. Joseph last week is being listed as undetermined.

That's according to Lt. Josh Reese of the St. Joseph-Stanton Fire Protection District, who also said damage due to the blaze is being listed at $130,000.

The duplex fire at 201 Chateau Drive broke out at around 11:30 a.m. Friday.  Nine fire departments responded, and they had the fire under control by around 1 p.m.

There were no reports of injuries, and the Red Cross was brought in to help the homeowners.

Sorry for the families that lost everything here. This is a great opportunity to put some work into this area and fix it up a bit.
