No cause determined in Monday fire near Tolono

The cause of a fire that destroyed a home near Tolono on Monday is being listed as undetermined.

That's according to Tolono Fire Protection District Lt. Brian Lukenbill, who said officials were able to determine that the fire started in the living room.  He added that no foul play appears to be involved.

Lukenbill also said the homeowner who was injured in the fire has been transported to a burn unit in Springfield, although her injuries are not considered life threatening.  Lukenbill added that seven cats, one dog and one duck all perished in the blaze.

The fire broke out at around 11:30 a.m. Monday at 728 County Road 1200 East.
