Carle Heart and Vascular Institute now open in new tower

The Carle Heart and Vascular Institute is now open in the new Carle tower in Urbana.

Director of the institute Lynn Ullestad said the new tower is great for patients to be treated from start to finish, all under one roof.

Ullestad added that the institute also boasts new equipment, like a second CAT scan machine and a fast-working cardiac nuclear medicine camera, allowing studies to be done very quickly.

She said that besides the new equipment, the institute also contains additional labs and staff to take care of patients more efficiently.

Ullestad also said that the new Carle tower is huge for Champaign-Urbana, East Central Illinois and even Southern Illinois because the Carle Heart and Vascular Institute has everything that could be found in any big city hospital.

The new Carle tower is located on the northwest corner of the hospital's campus.
