Durbin open to new plan to avoid strike on Syria

Illinois Senator Dick Durbin said he's hopeful that a new plan to avoid a military strike against Syria will come to fruition.

The Democrat was referring to a plan put forth by Russian officials that would have the Syrian regime turn over its stockpiles of chemical weapons.

Durbin said he's open to the plan if officials can guarantee that it will accomplish what it sets out to.

Durbin added that he's been surprised at the amount of cooperation between President Obama and Republican House Speaker John Boehner on the Syria debate.

Durbin made the comments Tuesday on the WDWS Morning Show.

Yesterday he was for a strike.  Today he's against it.

Which way will the wind be blowing tomorrow? Time to vote the bum out.
