McClain appointed to RTHS board

RANTOUL — The Rantoul Township High School board has appointed Tony McClain of Gifford to replace Katie Carver.

McClain, the Gifford State Bank president, fills in for Carver, who moved to Texas for a job promotion and resigned Aug. 8. Carver was voted into a four-year term April, and McClain will fill that position until the 2015 election.

The board held two special meetings last month and this month to discuss the 10 potential candidates who applied for the position.

McClain is the lone representative who doesn't live in Rantoul.
