Man hurt, ticketed in I-74 crash

URBANA — A Champaign man was injured in an accident Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 74 about three miles east of Urbana.

A release from Illinois State Police at Pesotum said Anthony W. Frisby, 47, of Champaign, was headed east at 3:11 p.m. when his car ran into the back of a small car that was stopped in traffic after an accident that had happened about an hour earlier.

Frisby told police he was unable to slow to avoid hitting the car driven by Tracy Osborne, 36, of Danville.

Osborne was not injured but Frisby was taken to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, where he was treated and released.

After crashing into the rear of Osborne's car, Frisby spun counterclockwise and rolled over in the southbound ditch.

He was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper lane usage.

Police have not released information on the accident that happened earlier Wednesday afternoon.
