Two men arrested after shooting at a large party in Charleston

Charleston Police have identified two men who were arrested following a shooting at a large party over the weekend that left two people wounded by gunfire and a third victim beaten.

24-year-old Marquis Green of Park Forest and 23-year-old Kajuan Wright of Dekalb were both arrested for Resisting a Peace Officer.

Charleston Deputy Chief Dave Chambers says a number of people have also been arrested for obstructing justice.

Police say between 300 to 400 people were at the party held by a fraternity at 634 West State Street when they arrived at about 2:20 Sunday morning.

Officers estimated that there were 100 people fighting in the street when they arrived on scene.

Police say a Chicago company promoted the party as a "Barn Party" and it was hosted by the Eastern Illinois University fraternity Phi Beta Sigma.

Charleston police were assisted by EIU police, the Coles County Sheriff's Department, Mattoon police, Illinois State Police, and the Coles County State's Attorney's office.
